Portable PhotoScape

Functions

Preview

If you just want to view the photos you took with your digital camera or check all the images you've been saving for a while on your computer, the program has a special section for that purpose.

Through thumbnail lists, you give complete information about each image and can also view them in full screen or as a slide show. And from that same section you can also apply simple effects to images, such as rotating, flipping or changing brightness.

Individual Editions

Although it does not allow professional-looking edits, Portable Photoscape has basic and very useful tools for those who just want to make some adjustments and corrections to their own photos. So if you want to age, crop, resize or remove red-eye from your photos, Portable Photoscape tools are perfect.

And if you want to add a special touch to your pictures, you can also take advantage of the various border patterns and add special elements to the scenes, including ready-made shapes (balloons, prints, hearts, cartoons, etc.) or export other icons and figures your preference.

Bulk editions
This feature allows you to edit multiple images at the same time and with just one click. So if you have several photos captured at the same time and have certain adjustments that can be made in common, with this function you only need to set the parameters and then you can change them all at once, saving time and avoiding repetitive actions.

Mounts

The Merging Tool lets you organize your photos within one page, according to dozens of ready-made layouts. This feature is perfect for anyone who wants to print collections of images in a different way, applying layouts as if they were preparing a professional job.

Print

Although it seems very common, the print function of the program is much more complete than you are accustomed and allows you to print your photos with much more control and precision. Usually you can only set settings such as paper type, print quality and page orientation, while with Portable Photoscape you can control how many photos will be printed on the same sheet, their alignments, gamma and quality (in DPI).

Animations in GIF

With this tool, you can animate your photos to create beautiful presentations with transition effects. And, to compose the animations, you only have to choose some photos, set the duration time, and then add the effects. At the end of the settings, you can still check how your creation results were in the browser window before saving the animation for good.

Photo Splitter

With this tool you can divide one or several photos into smaller sizes by simply selecting the number of lines and columns you want. This will be necessary to define where you want to save the clippings of the photos.

Print Screen

Here you can take screenshots of what you want, it can be either a window, a region delimited by you, or a screenshot of the entire screen.

Color selection

Click and drag the eyedropper from that window to find out what code the color it is in above.

Raw Converter

Convert "raw" files (photos taken by some cameras have such format) to "jpg", allowing your photos to be viewed in simpler image viewers.

Renamer

Here you will be able to rename multiple files at once, ideal for when you took multiple photos in one day and want to identify them in the middle of several other photos. For example, you can rename a sequence of photos "DSC000001", "DSC000002", etc., for "Ana's Birthday - 2009 - 001", and so on.

How to use?

When you start the program, it displays a complete panorama containing all available tools, identified with various icons. Thus, after clicking on any of the figures, you will only see the options of that function, being able to work with much more objectivity and convenience.

At any time you can return to the main screen of the program with just one click, just like you can choose other sections directly by the tabs that always remain available at the top of the window.

Portable PhotoScape is an excellent image editing program, since it is not so heavy it is super easy to use and does not require installation. Presenting support for Portuguese is a great ally for people who do not know English and like to edit pictures.

What distinguishes Portable PhotoScape from PhotoScape is that the first one does not require installation, and because of this, it can be copied to a "pen drive" and taken anywhere (hence the "Portable" in the name, ie portable ).
